2 Acre Pond:
- Fishing is allowed in our 2-acre pond.
- If interested in helping feed our catfish, let us know or join us if you see us. We usually feed them between 5:30pm - 7 pm daily, but if bad weather or windy then we don't feed them.
- Our Albino or other catfish we do require to be thrown back in the pond.
- Fishing licenses- check online with Iowa DNR
- Fish remains are to be thrown off the DNR cleaning station dock in deeper water. Do not throw dying or dead fish back into our pond, on property or in the dumpster.
- No Swimming in the pond. The pond is for fishing or use of paddleboats/kayaks only
Activities:
- Playground near Bunkhouse
- Volleyball set up behind cabin 7 and 8
- Horseshoe and football toss in front area of Woodshed
- Swimming area about a half mile away in Lacey State Park or at the Riverside Golf Course in Keosauqua 3-4 miles away.
- Lake Sugema with 175 acres built for fishing enthusiasts 2 blocks south of cabins
- Lacey State Park with hiking trails, swimming and scenic drive about 2 blocks going north
- Golfing at Riverside Golf Course
- Large Playground along the river in Keosauqua and ice cream shop next to the park and other restaurants close by
- Hunting during turkey and deer seasons
- Historic Districts to shop and explore....
- Bentonsport to walk over the historic iron bridge, visit the Indian Artifact Museum or the flower gardens inside the remains of the Grist mill. Shops with working blacksmith & potter, hand crafted items, antiques, artwork, fudge, trails and events.
- Morris Park with the old school house, barn with antique farm equipment and log cabin.
- Historic Bonaparte with antique shops and the well known Bonaparte Retreat Restaurant in the old mill. Or you may catch the Amish buffet just outside of Bonaparte which they put on occassionally.
- Cantril with a Mennonite Grocery Store with food, clothing, gifts, material and other items geared for Amish and visitors and other Amish shops or garden produce in the area
- Milton Cheese Creamery with variety of cheese curds flavors
